Our Vision and Statement
When Jesus ministered on earth His most repeated commands to His followers were all about love. He commanded them to:
Love God
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your soul.”
Matthew 22:37
Matthew 22:37
Love One Another
“Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love another.”
John 13:34
John 13:34
Love People
“Love your neighbour as yourself.”
Mark 12:31
Mark 12:31
At the Mission we seek to fulfil these commands through four big commitments:
Devote our lives to Jesus
Build a family where all ages thrive
Share a message of hope
Serve our community in love
Build a family where all ages thrive
Share a message of hope
Serve our community in love
These four aims summarise everything that we are called to do as a church. We are passionate about fulfilling these purposes and believe that when we do these things then the Church can be a phenomenal power for good in the world.
To devote our lives to Jesus
A church is built on people’s individual relationships with Jesus. The Mission is a group of people who have discovered that Jesus is the Son of God and accepted His secure salvation. We are a people who recognise that we have been greatly blessed by a generous God.
From a heart of gratitude, we have in return devoted our lives to following Jesus. Our experience is that the more we dedicate ourselves to Jesus, the more fulfilling our lives become.
To Build a Family where all ages Thrive
If you asked any member of our church to describe the Mission you would be very likely to hear ‘it’s a family church’ in reply. We believe that people of all ages have a place in church. Everyone matters, everyone is important and everyone has something to offer.
“You should be like one big happy family, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds.”
1 Peter 3:8
In a family you care for everyone, you deliberately seek out good for one another, and you love one another. That is what our build mission is about; loving one another.
1 Peter 3:8
To Share a message of hope
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
1 Peter 3:15
Jesus once said that he has come to speak the truth and that this truth will set people free. (John 8:31-47)
Truth brings life and freedom. The message Jesus brought us has given us a hope that has transformed our lives. We love sharing God’s hope-giving, life-bringing word with others.
“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But who can ask Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells him?”
Romans 10:13-14

To Serve our Community in love
Jesus has a special concern for the most vulnerable and overlooked people in society; widows, orphans, foreigners, the sick…He instructs his followers to help the poor again and again. It pleases Him immensely when we lavish love on others.
‘let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.’
Matthew 5:16
As a Church we serve Jesus by turning our faith and love into visible actions that feed the poor, clothe the cold, defend the vulnerable and embrace the lonely. We aim to be a blessing that strengthens the community around us.
